Dubai’s first theme park hotel opens its doors
Dubai’s first theme park hotel has opened its doors at the multi-themed destination Dubai Parks and Resorts.
Lapita Hotel, part of Marriott International’s Autograph Collection, welcomed its first guests on January 2.
Located in the heart of Dubai Parks and Resorts, close to all three connected theme parks, the Polynesian-themed clustered resort is designed for families and corporate groups who want to take advantage of the park’s activities and attractions.
Featuring colourful designs inspired by the South Pacific, the resort offers 504 rooms and suites including three villas with three private bedrooms and access to private lagoon-style swimming pools.
There are five signature restaurants serving a range of cuisine, from seafood to Chinese specialties, accompanied by live music and entertainment.
For children, Polynesian-inspired arts and crafts projects and other activities are on offer at the Luna & Nova Kids and Teens Club.
“We are excited to introduce a truly unique hotel experience to complement our guests' enjoyment of the wonderful destination,” said Philip Bryson, senior vice president, Marriott international.
“Everything, from the way our guests check in, to the exotic Polynesian experience, will enrich the travel journey.”
Hotel facilities also include a 730-square-metre ballroom, six meeting rooms and an extensive fitness centre offering personal training and group classes. Guests can also enjoy an escape at the Ola Spa, a Polynesian sanctuary offering soothing and relaxing treatments, an indulgence for the body, mind and senses.
The hotel’s name was inspired by the pre-historic Pacific Ocean people and their journey and settlement into the Islands (the Lapita movement). The property’s design draws its inspiration from the exotic Polynesian landscapes, featuring tropical flowers, lagoon-style pools, and themed activities.
Dubai Parks and Resorts comprises three theme parks: Bollywood Parks™ Dubai – a first-of-its-kind theme park showcasing rides and attraction based on some of Bollywood’s biggest blockbusters; MOTIONGATE™ Dubai – a unique theme park with rides and attractions showcasing some of Hollywood’s most beloved characters from DreamWorks Animation, Columbia Pictures and Lionsgate; and the region’s first LEGOLAND® Park and LEGOLAND® Water Park. The entire destination is connected by Riverland™ Dubai – a retail and dining destination at the heart of Dubai Parks and Resorts and the Lapita Hotel.
Six Flags Dubai, which is expected to open in 2019, will be the destination’s fourth theme park and the region’s first Six Flags theme park.
