Emirates to relaunch direct Lagos flights in October

Emirates has confirmed it will resume daily flights between Dubai and the Nigerian capital of Lagos on 1 October, marking a significant development for Dubai's business and tourism sectors.

The re-established route, operated by Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, is expected to lead to stronger economic ties between Dubai and one of Africa’s fastest-growing economies.

With flights departing Dubai at 0945hrs and arriving in Lagos at 1520hrs and return flights leaving Lagos at 1730hrs and arriving in Dubai at 0510hrs the next day, passengers will benefit from a seamless travel experience.

“We are excited to resume our services to Nigeria,” commented Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ deputy president and CCO.

“The Lagos-Dubai service has traditionally been popular with customers in Nigeria, and we hope to reconnect leisure and business travellers to Dubai and onwards to our network of over 140 destinations.”

With the resumption of operations to Nigeria, Emirates will service 19 air gateways in Africa for a total of 157 weekly flights. The airline’s reach extends to an additional 130 regional points in Africa through its codeshare and interline partnerships with South African Airways, Airlink, Royal Air Maroc, Tunis Air, among others.

Dubai welcomed more than 750,000 visitors from Africa in 2023 and 270,000 in the first four months of 2024. The new Lagos services should further boost arrivals moving forward.
