flydubai expands Russian presence to 10 cities
flydubai has added two new cities in Russia to its network taking the total number of destinations it serves across the country to 10.
The airline now flies three times weekly to Novosibirsk and twice weekly to Nizhny Novgorod marking the first time a Dubai-based carrier has operated services to these two Russian cities.
flydubai launched its first flight to Russia back in 2010 with services to Samara and Yekaterinburg. Five years on the carrier continues to grow its network in the market opening up previously underserved destinations that had no or few direct links to the UAE.
“Since the start of our flights to Russia five years ago we have seen strong demand for affordable, reliable and direct services to Dubai,” said flydubai CEO Ghaith Al Ghaith.
“We are committed to growing our network in the market and the new flights to Nizhny Novgorod and Novosibirsk will provide passengers from the UAE and Russia with an accessible means to explore both countries.”
Their extensive network of Russian destinations includes Kazan, Krasnodar, Mineralnye Vody, Moscow, Rostov-on-Don, Samara, Ufa and Yekaterinburg.
This network caters to the large Russian expat community living in Dubai and the UAE, enabling them to take more trips back home to visit family and friends.
Nizhny Novgorod and Novosibirsk are two of 18 new locations flydubai has added to its network since the start of 2015, taking its total destination count to 95 across 45 countries.
The carrier operates a fleet of 50 Next-Generation Boeing 737-800 aircraft with an average age of 3.1 years. It has more than 100 new aircraft on order.
